Senior Data Engineer Job DescriptionJoin a cutting-edge healthcare analytics team as a Senior Data Engineer to shape the future of nationwide analytics and machine learning systems.Key Responsibilities:Design, build, and scale robust data pipelines using Python (Pandas, PySpark) and SQL orchestrated with Airflow (MWAA).Ensure the SAIVA Data Lake/Lakehouse on AWS meets quality, governance, scalability, and accessibility standards.Run distributed data processing jobs with Spark on AWS EMR and/or EKS.Implement batch and streaming ingestion frameworks (APIs, databases, files, event streams).Enforce validation and quality checks for reliable analytics and ML readiness.Monitor pipelines with CloudWatch integrating observability tools like Grafana, Prometheus, or Datadog.Automate infrastructure provisioning with Terraform following AWS best practices.Manage SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and Snowflake integrations into the Lakehouse.Participate in an on-call rotation to support pipeline health and resolve incidents quickly.Requirements:Essential Skills:Proficiency in Python (Pandas, PySpark), SQL, and Airflow (MWAA).Experience with distributed data processing using Spark on AWS EMR and/or EKS.Knowledge of data ingestion frameworks (APIs, databases, files, event streams).Ability to enforce validation and quality checks for analytics and ML readiness.Understanding of cloud-based monitoring and observability tools like CloudWatch, Grafana, Prometheus, or Datadog.Proficiency in Terraform and AWS best practices for infrastructure provisioning.Experience with SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and Snowflake integrations into a lakehouse architecture.What We Offer:A remote work environment open to candidates based in Europe or India with periodic team gatherings in Mountain View, California.Opportunities for growth and professional development in a cutting-edge healthcare analytics team.Collaborative and dynamic work environment with a focus on innovation and excellence.Why Apply?This role offers a unique chance to join a pioneering team shaping the future of healthcare analytics.
