JOB TITLE: Textile Designer - Print Design Specialist

FUNCTIONAL AREA: Apparel Ethnic


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

TREND ANALYSIS + MARKET INTELLIGENCE:

  • Stay informed with industry developments & creative trends - Fashion, Art and Design events
  • Trends & forecast study in terms of fabrics, colours, surfaces & shapes. Presentations & aligning the teams on the same.


CONCEPT BUILDING:

  • State design direction in terms of CONCEPT, COLOUR and print / embroidery language
  • Bringing fresh perspective to the business by offering concepts that have a design edge
  • Conceptualize & present creative strategy in close capacity with creative head & business teams
  • Study archives & analyse sell-through for interpretation


DEVELOP SEASONAL PRINT ARTWORKS FOR CORE BUSINESSES:

As per buy plan of businesses for all categories


SAMPLING + RANGE DEVELOPMENT:

Creating textile Colourways / Swatches for all categories

DOCUMENTATION:

Textile Design Document for the season and Maintaining swatches / colourways archives of all seasonal developments


RANGE PRESENTATION:

Cohesive range presentation for Internal reviews, concept presentation (season kick off) & MRH meets, taking critical feedback & ensuring appropriate response to the same in future deliverables.



JOB SPECIFICATION: (QUALIFICATIONS/KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE)


Years of Functional Experience: 3 - 4 years of work experience as a Textile Designer in a Retail or Apparel manufacturing Industry or Craft sector

Degree : B. Design/ Masters in Design from NID / NIFT/ IICD / Pearl


Knowledge & Skills:

Fabindia Product Knowledge

Designing-Creativity , Conceptual design process and aesthetics

Visualising , Knowledge of print , weaves and surfaces

Ability to generate fresh ideas

Eye for Colour, Texture and Pattern

Range creation with technical knowledge

Proficiency in design softwares like Adobe suite, Coral draw etc.

Commercial acumen

IT Skills-Ms Office and CAD

Communication skills

Planning and Organizational skills

Interpersonal skills

Negotiation Skills
