System Administrator:

Mission: Manufacturing Execution System (MES) is a new area within Epiroc and part of Industry 4.0. The first phase of the MES Program is in mid execution preparing for the first go-live after summer and we have a long roadmap of future projects both with new functionality and new site rollouts. With that, we now need to start building the MES Support and Maintainance organization.

System Administrator is to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of computer systems, networks, and IT infrastructure within an organization. The primary goal is to provide a reliable and secure MES System that supports the organization's business processes and meets the needs of end-users. You will be a part of the MES Solutions team and report to the MES Manager

Job description: As a System Administrator, you will be responsible for the IT side of maintenance of MES application to fulfill the Business requirements and ensure that the application performance meets user demands.

The role - What are the main tasks and responsibilities of this job?

Be part of or initiate troubleshooting and root cause analysis within the problem management process.
Collaborate with the Epiroc IT team for System Maintenance and associated Server Administration.
System monitoring and Performance Optimization.
Perform preventive maintenance activities and proactive problem management.
Ensure quality assurance of production and lower environments by maintaining system use cases and performing functional verifications after changes/maintenance.
Planning system upgrades and deployment with minimal disruption to the organization's operations during these processes.
Execute testing after service windows and unexpected disruptions and test performance against the baseline.
Document instructions in the knowledge base and update system documentation.
Initiate/propose system and method improvements and participate in system and method development projects.

Competences, skills, and experience - What critical competences, skills and experience is required for a candidate to be successful in this position?
You have a University Degree covering areas such as IT System Administration or similar knowledge developed through working experience.
In-depth knowledge and experience in administering the TrakSYS, MES application.
Proficiency in managing the underlying database used by TrakSYS, such as Microsoft SQL Server or Oracle.
Hands-on experience working with OPC protocols.
Experience with managing IIS (Internet Information Services) and Web Services.
Familiarity with scripting languages like PowerShell or Python to automate routine administrative tasks.
Good understanding of computer systems, networks, hardware, and software components relevant to the organization's IT infrastructure. Keeping up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends.
Since you will be collaborating around the globe, you need to have verbal and written fluency in English.
