About this role: We are seeking a highly engaged and motivated Senior Software Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our GraphQL API team, you will be responsible for delivering technical solutions to drive business growth and improve the digital experience of millions of guests around the globe.The ideal candidate will have a strong JavaScript/TypeScript background and possess exceptional communication skills. You will function as a technical expert and lead engineer within the GraphQL team, performing research, analysis, design, and development on an emerging GraphQL API platform.You will interact with consuming digital teams (web, mobile, etc.) and domain API teams, acting as a bridge between the two and requiring strong communication skills. To be successful in this role, you must be able to prioritize multiple initiatives and engage with multiple teams from different areas.Key Responsibilities:Technical Leadership: Train and/or mentor other team members, provide financial input on department or project budgets, identify opportunities to enhance service delivery processes.Delivering Technology: Perform complex quantitative and qualitative analyses, facilitate achievement of expected deliverables, validate completeness of requirements prior to solutioning.IT Governance: Follow all defined IT standards and processes, maintain a proper balance between business and operational risk.Required Skills and Qualifications:Strong JavaScript/TypeScript backgroundExceptional communication skillsExperience with modern front-end or back-end web technologies and frameworksProven track record of working with scalable, high-quality web applicationsUnderstanding of performance-related concerns and how to solve themDeep understanding of data structures and software design patternsKnowledge of when to best apply GraphQL capabilities2+ years working with GraphQL4-6 years contributing to large-scale API projects5+ years' technical delivery ownership of JavaScript projectsAWS Solutions Architect or Developer certificationBenefits:A dynamic and collaborative work environmentOpportunities for professional growth and developmentCompetitive compensation and benefits package
