Software Architect - Backend DevelopmentFusion Applications is Oracle's leading SaaS offering of several critical business applications like Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Human Capital Management (HCM), Customer Relationship Management (CRM) and many more. The enterprise grade application suite serves as one of the focal points of Oracle's business value.The current architecture is based on an on-premise, Fusion Middleware stack that has not changed since its inception. However, we are tasked with defining the next generation architecture (codename Spectra) based on cloud native principles running in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). This migration from a monolith to a modern cloud-based micro-service architecture opens new avenues to work with a wide range of state-of-the-art technologies and OCI services.We are seeking an experienced Software Architect to join our team and own the software design and development for major Backend components of Spectra UI Infrastructure Services. You will work on the high-level design, create detailed technical design and architecture, build and manage microservices that are performant, resilient, and self-healing.Key Responsibilities:Design and develop scalable, secure, and maintainable backend systems using cloud-native technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, and Helidon.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define technical vision and roadmap for Spectra UI Infrastructure Services.Participate in code reviews, provide feedback, and mentor junior engineers to ensure best engineering practices are followed.Analyze and debug issues, including bugs, customer issues, and performance issues.Requirements:Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.10+ years of developing and shipping enterprise distributed and/or cloud-native systems.Strong grasp of system design fundamentals and distributed systems architectural best practices.Demonstrated ability to write great code in Java, Python, or similar OO languages.Career Level: IC5As a Consulting Member of Technical Staff, you will be responsible for owning the software design and development for major Backend components of Spectra UI Infrastructure Services.
