Roles & Responsibilities

The Senior Manager/Manager of Material Management in the Casting division is responsible for overseeing the overall procurement / purchase, inward logistics coordination, and material storage of all direct and indirect raw materials within the manufacturing facility. He / She will play a crucial role in optimizing inventory levels, reducing costs, and ensuring timely delivery of materials to support production schedules and overall business plans.



Key Responsibilities


  • :
    Collaborate with Sales, Production and Stores teams to forecast material requirements and ensure adequate stock levels to meet production schedule
  • s.Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of raw materials, negotiate contracts, and maintain strong vendor relationships. Develop and comply to risk management practices regarding supply contracts and agreement
  • s.Develop and implement strategic plans for material management to optimize inventory levels while minimizing carrying cost
  • s.Oversee the scheduling and coordination of material movements within the facility to support production activitie
  • s.Implement efficient material handling procedures to minimize waste, improve productivity, and enhance safet
  • y.Oversee shipping, receiving, warehousing and stores related activities to ensure timely delivery of material
  • s.Support management in timely procurement of Engineering Equipment, Projects & Capital Equipment, Process and Utility equipment, Packing material, etc. as per the pl
  • anStay updated on industry regulations, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and ensure that all raw material that is delivered should meet relevant industry standards such as ASTM, IS, BS standards as per customer need
  • s.Ensure materials acquisition and storage comply with company and government guideline
  • s.Provide procurement related inputs in project proposals that include feasibility reports/ costs-benefit analyse
  • s.Review annual Contracts for indirect spend, AMCs for Machinery, Engineering and Utility equipmen
  • t.Prepare monthly budgets and MIS reports for variance analysis, identify areas of improvement and implement initiatives for supply chain optimizatio
  • n.Supervise, evaluate, and coach staff members by setting goals, directions and KRAs for the tea
  • m.Ensuring training and counselling of team members as and when require

  • ns.In-depth knowledge of supply chain and inventory management princip

  • ingStrong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify issues and develop effective solutio
  • ns.Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under tight deadlin
  • es.Strong business acumen and financial management skills along with high level of negotiation skil
  • ls.Conversant with ERP modul
  • es.Good in Capital purchase and must be a master in Raw material purchase for Casting Manufacturing Indust
