Engineer Sr Analyst

The Engineer Sr Analyst is an intermediate level position responsible for a variety of engineering activities including the design, acquisition and development of hardware, software and network infrastructure in coordination with the Technology team. The overall objective of this role is to ensure quality standards are being met within existing and planned frameworks.Responsibilities:Contribute to the budgetary requirement definition for assigned product area, develop functional specifications, and create project plans and software release schedulesPartner with business and development teams to identify engineering requirements and assist in defining application and system requirements and processes and maintain engineering relationships with the end user/clientEnsure requirements/tasks from technology departments and/or end users are communicated to stakeholdersProvide solutions and processes in accordance with audit initiatives and requirements and consult with Business Information Security officers (BISOs) and TISOsExhibit in-depth understanding of engineering concepts and principlesAssist with training activities and mentor junior team membersAppropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.Qualifications:5-8 years of relevant experience in an Engineering roleExperience working in Financial Services or a large complex and/or global environmentProject Management experienceConsistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communicationComprehensive knowledge of design metrics, analytics tools, benchmarking activities and related reporting to identify best practicesDemonstrated analytic/diagnostic skillsAbility to work in a matrix environment and partner with virtual teamsAbility to work independently, prioritize, and take ownership of various parts of a project or initiativeAbility to work under pressure and manage to tight deadlines or unexpected changes in expectations or requirementsProven track record of operational process change and improvementEducation:Bachelor's degree/University degree or equivalent experienceResponsibilities:Database support for critical database systems like Postgres, Mongo, Oracle etc.Caching database support for Redis and/or CouchbaseMonitor and address database alerts/issues, capacity constraints, and performance related items.Working experience on public cloudUnderstanding & implementation of GenAI and relevant use casesGood UNIX scripting and automation experienceKnowledge of automation tools like ANSIBLE and automation scripting / fixing - DesirableFully analyze performance issues, identify tuning opportunities and advise developers on SQL tuning options.Interact and communicate with application developers and support teams to understand and articulate.Drive Root Cause Analysis (RCA) post restoration of serviceFollow-the-Sun 24*7 on call support modelQualifications:Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical audienceKnowledge of database installation / configuration best practices and Database upgrade/migration approaches.Strong knowledge of database internals/views to help troubleshoot issues.Strong knowledge of various Database high availability and Disaster recovery solutionsWorking experience in multiple technologies like Mongo and Caching databases (Redis and Couchbase) is a plusProven track record working under pressure, balancing multiple projects, meeting aggressive deadlinesAbility to lead and influence others toward common goals and objectivesA well-organized person, capable of working with minimal supervisionEnsuring that databases are in line with compliance rules and standardsPlan and implement complex changes; create and execute scriptsDevelop and implement processes as well as make recommendations for process improvements Job Family Group: Technology Job Family:Systems & Engineering Time Type:Full time Most Relevant Skills Please see the requirements listed above.
