Job Title: Technical Director / Head of Generative EngineeringDesign and own the architecture of a platform for generative production: APIs, workflow engine, model gateway, render orchestration, and asset/metadata systems. Lead and mentor a team of engineers; define coding standards and best practices. Translate requirements into robust, repeatable pipelines. Integrate external AI services (e.g., image upscalers, QC models) into a single system. Define and implement observability and reliability: logging, metrics, tracing, error budgets, incident response. Partner with stakeholders on the technical roadmap for a product. 8–12+ years building production-grade systems, including 3+ years leading teams. Strong hands-on experience with Python or TypeScript, cloud platforms (GCP/AWS), containers, queues, and microservices. Experience with media/VFX/animation or real-time engines (Unreal, Blender, Nuke, Resolve, etc.) is preferred. Demonstrated ability to work with both technical and creative stakeholders. Track record of delivering systems from initial version to stable, scalable production.
