Role Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) Practice Head to lead and manage our SRE function. Based in Pune and Bengaluru, this senior leadership role will involve building and scaling the SRE teams, ensuring operational excellence, and delivering reliable, scalable, and high-performing services. The SRE Practice Head will be responsible for defining the vision and strategy for the SRE function and collaborating with engineering, product, and operations teams to establish a culture of reliability and resilience across the organization.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute the SRE strategy aligned with the organization's goals, focusing on high-performance and reliable systems.
  • Team Management: Build, lead, and mentor SRE teams in Pune and Bengaluru, fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation.
  • Operational Excellence: Set up best practices for incident management, monitoring, and service reliability, promoting continuous improvement.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with engineering, product, and infrastructure teams to integrate SRE principles across the organization and ensure scalable, reliable system design.
  • Automation & Tooling: Drive automation in infrastructure, deployment, and monitoring processes to reduce manual intervention and human errors.
  • Incident Response: Lead critical incident resolution efforts and develop on-call strategies and playbooks for swift responses and minimized downtime.
  • Cost Optimization: Ensure efficient resource utilization in cloud infrastructure and manage costs while maintaining system reliability.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate reliability risks, driving the implementation of resilience strategies to address potential issues proactively.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Act as the liaison between leadership and technical teams, providing regular updates on system reliability, metrics, incidents, and improvements.


Key Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's/Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 15+ years of experience in IT, DevOps, or SRE, with a minimum of 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven track record in managing and scaling global or multi-location SRE teams.
  • Expertise in cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure), containerization (Kubernetes, Docker), and infrastructure as code (Terraform, Ansible).
  • Strong knowledge of monitoring & observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Datadog).
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automation, and release management.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to think strategically while executing tactically, focused on driving measurable results.
  • In-depth understanding of incident management, SLAs, SLOs, and system reliability.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with large-scale, distributed systems.
  • Hands-on expertise in debugging, performance tuning, and system reliability improvements.
