Job Opportunity: Research LeaderWe are seeking a seasoned professional to spearhead research and policy initiatives in the food and agriculture sector. The role involves conceptualising, executing, and delivering high-impact research projects that drive evidence-based policy advocacy.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and execute comprehensive research projects, defining scope and frameworks that meet organisational objectives.Lead data collection, statistical analysis, and policy assessments to inform key stakeholders.Build and maintain relationships with industry experts, government bodies, and think-tanks to ensure effective collaboration.Develop and disseminate high-quality reports, publications, and presentations that showcase research outcomes.Ensure timely delivery of research outputs and contributions to organisational goals.Policy Advocacy ExpertiseIdentify strategic policy issues emerging from research and stakeholder engagement.Develop informed viewpoints considering diverse perspectives and stakeholder needs.Establish and maintain sustained engagement with key policymakers, industry associations, and experts.Represent the organisation in high-level policy dialogues and consultations.Strategic Sector Development LeadershipIdentify future-focus areas in the agrifood sector based on emerging trends and sectoral priorities.Drive thought leadership across new and evolving policy domains, informing business strategies.Support multi-stakeholder collaborations to shape sectoral priorities and advance organisational interests.Proposal & Business DevelopmentMonitor RFPs and new opportunities for research and advocacy projects, driving business growth.Ideate with internal teams and external stakeholders on project concepts that align with sectoral needs and organisational objectives.Develop high-quality proposals that capture market opportunities and drive business development.QualificationsPostgraduate degree in Economics, Public Policy, Agricultural Economics, or Agribusiness Management.Minimum 8 years of experience in food & agriculture, research, or policy roles, demonstrating strong expertise and leadership.Strong command of quantitative and qualitative research methods, with excellent analytical, writing, and presentation skills.Proven track record of effective stakeholder management, including industry, government, and global institutions.Ability to multitask, prioritise, and deliver within tight timelines while maintaining exceptional quality standards.
