We are an early-stage aerospace startup developing advanced satellite platforms for persistent monitoring and real-time analysis of radio frequency (RF) activities. Our mission supports India's national security and strategic defense operations by enabling autonomous detection and tracking of emitters of interest.


Role Overview

We are seeking a Numerical Algorithms & Data Modeling Engineer with 2-5 years of experience to design, implement, and evaluate algorithms that estimate position using sensor data or similar. This role sits at the intersection of numerical computing, geometric modeling, and applied inference. You will collaborate with experts across hardware, signal processing, and embedded systems to develop robust, real-time algorithms for spaceborne platforms.


Key Responsibilities
  • Develop algorithms to estimate emitter positions using multi-sensor signal observables and geometric constraints.
  • Build numerical models that account for measurement noise, sensor geometry, and signal bandwidth effects.
  • Extract arrival-time or related observables from sensor data via cross-correlation or ambiguity analysis.
  • Perform transformations between geodetic (WGS84), Earth-centered (ECEF), and local Cartesian coordinate systems.
  • Identify and eliminate solution ambiguities through spatial reasoning and motion-based filtering.
  • Collaborate with other teams to integrate algorithms into satellite mission pipelines.
  • Document assumptions, model behavior, and simulation outcomes in a clear, reproducible manner.


Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
  • 2-5 years of experience in algorithm development, data modeling, or numerical simulation.
  • Proficiency in Python for numerical computing and data visualization.
  • Strong grasp of linear algebra, optimization, and 3D geometry.
  • Logical thinking, precision, and comfort working with spatial or coordinate-based data.


Preferred Skills and Experience
  • Master’s degree or advanced coursework in estimation, signal processing, or computational modeling.
  • Experience with passive localization, tracking, or inverse problems.
  • Familiarity with uncertainty modeling (e.g., CRLB), error propagation, or Monte Carlo simulation.
  • Exposure to satellite systems, sensor networks, or geospatial analytics.
  • Experience with Git and collaborative software workflows.
