Job OpportunityWe are seeking a skilled professional to join our team as an API Management Engineer. As an integral member of our organization, you will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and operating our Enterprise AI API platform.This challenging position requires collaboration with various teams, including architecture, development, security, and DevOps, to build a scalable, secure, and robust API ecosystem using IBM's API management technologies.Design and Build APIs: Utilize IBM API Connect, DataPower gateways, or equivalent API management platforms to create efficient and effective APIs.Define API Governance Policies: Establish authentication/authorization (OAuth2, API-key, JWT) mechanisms, rate limits, quotas, versioning, and lifecycle management to ensure seamless integration and scalability.Manage the API Gateway: Configure routing, transformation, orchestration, protocol mediation (REST, SOAP, GraphQL), and traffic control to optimize API performance and user experience.Develop the Developer Portal: Publish APIs, onboard internal/external consumers, provide documentation, and offer self-service subscription capabilities to streamline the API onboarding process.Monitor API Performance: Track usage, performance, latency, and error metrics; analyze usage patterns and production issues to identify areas for improvement.Ensure API Security: Implement secure back-end integrations, payload validation, threat mitigation, and high-availability measures to safeguard against potential vulnerabilities.Tech Requirements: Possess good knowledge of AWS cloud services like API Gateway, S3, EKS.Staying Up-to-Date: Stay current with API management best practices, emerging protocols (GraphQL, WebSockets), and evolving IBM tool capabilities to ensure continued growth and success.
