Oracle Database Administrator Job DescriptionThe ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, configuring, and optimizing Oracle databases across various versions. This involves performing regular maintenance tasks, such as patching and backup/recovery procedures.Perform periodic maintenance / patching as required.Monitor database performance and perform proactive tuning.Manage backup and recovery using RMAN and Oracle Recovery Manager strategies.Define and implement best practices and automation initiatives.Lead database migration projects (on-prem to cloud / version upgrades).Proficient in RMAN backup and recovery strategies.Strong knowledge of Oracle Data Guard for high availability and disaster recovery.Hands-on experience in performance tuning and query optimization.Experience with Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) for monitoring and management.Experience with patching, upgrades, and database cloning.Solid understanding of Unix/Linux system administration related to Oracle.Proficiency in writing complex PL/SQL scripts and shell scripting for automation.Experience in handling large-scale database environments (multi-TB). Maintenance and Optimization: Perform regular maintenance tasks, including patching and backup/recovery procedures. Database Performance: Monitor database performance and proactively tune it to ensure optimal efficiency. Backup and Recovery: Manage backup and recovery using RMAN and Oracle Recovery Manager strategies. Automation Initiatives: Define and implement best practices and automation initiatives to improve database management. Migration Projects: Lead database migration projects, including on-prem to cloud and version upgrades. This role requires strong technical skills and a solid understanding of Oracle databases. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in performance tuning, query optimization, and database administration.
