This is a hands-on technical leadership role where you'll guide a team in maintaining and modernizing a large-scale legacy desktop application while driving best practices and architectural improvements.The ideal candidate will be a strong communicator and technical mentor, with a proven ability to balance deep technical contributions with leadership responsibilities. You will work closely with global teams to improve application performance, scalability, and maintainability while leading modernization efforts within an evolving tech environment.ResponsibilitiesTechnical Leadership: Lead the design, development, and delivery of features within a large-scale WPF desktop application built on .NET Framework (4.5–4.8). Architecture & Design: Define and implement architectural patterns to enhance performance, scalability, and maintainability. Hands-On Development: Write high-quality, maintainable code in C#, leveraging WPF and XAML for rich client-side UI. Modernization & Refactoring: Guide the team through refactoring efforts, technical debt reduction, and incremental modernization strategies. Collaboration: Work cross-functionally with backend, QA, DevOps, and product teams to ensure high-quality software delivery. Mentorship: Provide technical guidance, conduct code reviews, and mentor mid- and senior-level engineers on best practices in WPF and .NET development. Performance Optimization: Identify bottlenecks and optimize desktop performance for responsiveness and reliability. UI/UX Improvements: Collaborate with designers and product managers to ensure high-quality, user-friendly interfaces. Testing & Quality: Advocate for test automation and enforce quality assurance standards throughout the development process. Technical Strategy: Partner with engineering leadership to define long-term technical vision and modernization roadmaps. Minimum QualificationsCandidate must be located in India. 10+ years of professional experience in software engineering. Expert-level proficiency in .NET Framework 4.5–4.8, C#, WPF, and XAML. Strong understanding of MVVM architecture, data binding, and dependency injection. Proven experience leading teams or projects within complex software systems. Experience with multi-threaded applications, memory management, and UI performance tuning. Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with experience working in distributed teams. Self-motivated, proactive, and capable of driving initiatives independently. Preferred QualificationsExperience with .NET 6+ migration or modernization from .NET Framework. Familiarity with Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF) performance profiling and debugging tools. Experience integrating WCF services, REST APIs, or third-party libraries into WPF applications. Background in CI/CD pipelines, Git, and modern DevOps workflows. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related field. Why Join Us?Leadership Opportunity: Drive technical strategy and mentor a high-performing engineering team. Challenging Work: Work on large-scale legacy modernization while delivering new, high-impact features. Flexibility: 100% remote role based in India with flexible hours. Growth: Expand your influence across architecture, leadership, and modernization efforts. Hiring ProcessOur hiring process is designed to be thoughtful, efficient, and focused on both technical ability and team fit:30-minute on-demand HireVue screening – Situational and behavioral questions to understand your ownership mindset, adaptability, and approach to collaboration. 10-minute virtual Q&A with our recruiter – A conversation to clarify the role and answer your questions (not an interview). 60-minute live technical interview – Conducted with a member of our engineering leadership team. 15–30 minute chat with the hiring manager – To align on expectations and culture fit. 30–60 minute client session – Final step to ensure alignment with client needs.  To ensure you've received our notifications, please whitelist the domains , , and
