Job Purpose:

  • Responsible for all activities related to mechanical maintenance of the specified area. Keep a check on operation, inspection, maintenance, and repair of mechanical equipment, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and safety.
  • Responsible for maintaining health of equipment’s, carry out predictive and preventive maintenance and plan for short and long shutdown so as to achieve maximum plant availability and reliability of the specified area.
  • Ensure maintenance cost is within the budgeted cost, keeping minimum inventory for the area.  To participate actively and support a team with technical knowledge and expertise for other areas as and when required.


Accountabilities & Responsibilities


Plant layout with right equipment configuration:

1. Study the similar facilities existing across both parent companies, at Hazira and utilize own experience to develop options for best configuration of mechanical equipment.

2. Scrutinize technical specifications and detailed engineering drawings for the area and provide necessary approvals.


HSE:

1. Should have thorough knowledge of process safety and plant safety.

2. Should be well versed with SMP/HIRAC and risk assessment.

3. Should ensure the team is trained in these aspects.

4. Encourage, implement, and enforce compliance with LSGR safety standard procedures and practices. Inculcate and ensure safety awareness in all the subordinates and associates.

5. Responsible for imparting quality, environment, and health and safety related training to employees and associate employees. Ensure the safety culture through motivation, innovation, digitalization, and rewards.


Detailed engineering:

Coordinate with engineering partners for detailed engineering drawings, studying them and approving them using your technical expertise and getting the best and optimum engineering solutions. Assist in providing one stop solution to all engineering issues required to be addressed for the area during the execution of project.


Planning & Execution:

1. Prepare standard maintenance practice & HIRAC documents for the specified area.

2. Plan for manpower requirement, maintenance & spares budget requirement for managing maintenance activities for the area.

3. Should possess knowledge in commissioning activities and prepare commissioning documents, SOP and protocols for the area.

4. Assist in developing team and training them to take charge of their respective areas during project execution.

5. Work closely with project teams for taking over commissioning and stabilizing activities and ensuring PG parameters are achieved.

6. Manage resources, staff and spares related to maintenance activities. Implementation of SAP for all maintenance activities and maintaining records in form of notification and MO.


Functional Skills:

1. Should have knowledge and expertise in maintenance of all types of mechanical equipment pertaining to Proportioning Bin and discharge System of Sinter Plant. Should have minimum 10yrs of experience in sinter plant maintenance dept.

2. Possess detailed knowledge/skill for the Preventive, Predictive & Periodical Maintenance of equipment like Bins (Silo) and its components, Conveyors and its Components, Loss in Weigh System, Intensive Mixer and Nodulizing Drum Mixer, Vibrating Screens, Weigh feeders, Belt Feeders, EOT Cranes and Hoists

3. Should have knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance of all static and dynamic equipment’s installed in area.

4. Should have expertise in monthly shut down and annual shutdown planning, with required resources and spares and work towards reducing the MTTR and improve MTBF.

5. Spare planning and minimizing the inventory. Develop new vendors to reduce dependency on OEM.

6. To prepare the annual budget of the area as per approved maintenance plan and maintenance cost.

7. To achieve plant availability and utilization as per ABP.

8. To have good knowledge of SAP for the generation of Notifications, Preventive Maintenance Orders & compilations of the same in the system as well as actual.

9. To have good knowledge of CAPA & Case study for the failure pattern of the equipment.

10. Safe working culture across Sinter plant Proportioning Bin and discharge System of Plant.

11. Coordination with operation and electrical department for optimization of productivity
