SAP Technical Architect

OpenBean Inc. is looking for a highly skilled ABAP Technical Architect to lead the technical design, development strategy, and performance optimization of our S/4HANA Brownfield Conversion Project. This role will act as the bridge between functional teams, BASIS, and developers, ensuring that all custom code and enhancements are migrated, optimized, and compliant with S/4HANA best practices. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the Custom Code Migration (CCM) strategy, guiding ABAP developers, and ensuring seamless integration with modern SAP technologies such as CDS Views, AMDP, Fiori/UI5, RAP, and BTP extensions. Key Responsibilities: Technical Leadership and Solution Design Define and own the ABAP technical roadmap for the Brownfield conversion. Lead the Custom Code Adaptation & Remediation using SAP’s Custom Code Migration Worklist and ATC checks. Provide guidance on where-to-clean, where-to-keep, where-to-redesign legacy custom code. Ensure all developments align with SAP S/4HANA simplification list and best practices. Architect solutions leveraging Core Data Services (CDS), AMDP, OData services, and RAP (Restful ABAP Programming Model). Collaborate with functional teams to design technical specs for FIORI apps, workflow automation, and data migration routines. Drive decisions on In-App vs Side-by-Side Extensibility (Embedded Steampunk / BTP). Required Skills & Experience 12+ years of SAP ABAP experience, with at least 3+ years in S/4HANA projects. Deep expertise in: Classic ABAP (Reports, ALV, BAPIs, BADIs, Enhancements, IDocs, Interfaces). CDS Views & AMDP. OData Services / SAP Gateway. Performance tuning (SQL trace, SAT, ST12). Strong knowledge of Custom Code Migration process (ATC, SCI, CCM tools). Hands-on in SPAU/SPDD handling. Familiarity with Simplification Items in S/4HANA. Experience with data migration tools (LTMC, LSMW, BODS, Migration Cockpit). Knowledge of SAP Fiori/UI5 development. Understanding of RAP and Steampunk (Embedded BTP ABAP Environment). Exposure to integration technologies (RFC, REST APIs, PI/PO, CPI). Preferred Certifications SAP Certified Development Specialist – ABAP for SAP HANA SAP S/4HANA Technical Implementation Certification
