Job Summary:

The DevOps Engineer - Infrastructure is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable, resilient infrastructure solutions. This role focuses on automating processes, managing infrastructure as code, and optimizing cloud or on-premises environments to ensure efficient and secure deployments. The DevOps Engineer will work closely with development, operations, and security teams to drive continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines and infrastructure automation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Infrastructure Design & Management:
  • Design, deploy, and maintain cloud or on-premise infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP, or others).
  • Manage scalable and secure infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible.
  • Optimize infrastructure for performance, cost, and scalability.
  • Automation & CI/CD Pipelines:
  • Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines to automate deployment and testing processes.
  • Integrate version control systems (e.g., Git) with automated build and release pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI).
  • Automate routine infrastructure tasks such as configuration management, monitoring, and backups.
  • Monitoring & Logging:
  • Set up monitoring and alerting for infrastructure health and performance using tools like Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, or CloudWatch.
  • Analyze logs and system metrics to troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure issues proactively.
  • Implement high-availability strategies and disaster recovery plans.
  • Security & Compliance:
  • Ensure infrastructure security through automated patching, firewall configurations, and access control management.
  • Conduct regular infrastructure security audits and vulnerability assessments.
  • Implement compliance measures (e.g., SOC2, GDPR) in the infrastructure setup.
  • Collaboration & Support:
  • Collaborate with software development teams to optimize the infrastructure and support development needs.
  • Work with IT and security teams to maintain infrastructure security, reliability, and best practices.
  • Provide technical support for infrastructure-related incidents and issues.
  • Infrastructure Optimization:
  • Implement cost-effective strategies for resource provisioning and optimization in cloud environments.
  • Continuously evaluate new technologies, automation tools, and practices to improve infrastructure performance and efficiency.
  • Perform capacity planning and scaling to ensure infrastructure meets the growth of the organization.
  • Documentation & Training:
  • Maintain thorough documentation of infrastructure, processes, and procedures.
  • Provide training and guidance to development teams on infrastructure automation and best practices.
  • Develop playbooks and runbooks for infrastructure incident management.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Certifications: AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure DevOps Engineer, or similar certifications preferred.
  • Experience:
  • 3-5 years of experience in DevOps, infrastructure engineering, or system administration.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization tools (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Proven experience with infrastructure automation tools (Terraform, Ansible, Puppet, Chef).
  • Strong background in Linux/Unix system administration.

Skills:

  • Proficient in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automation frameworks.
  • Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and their services.
  • Experience with containerization and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Strong scripting skills (Python, Bash, or similar).
  • Excellent problem-solving, troubleshooting, and debugging skills.
  • Familiarity with security best practices in cloud and DevOps environments.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
