At Folklogue Studios, we are engaged in research, documentation & multi-media production for socially, culturally, and historically significant projects. We've worked on a variety of projects over the years, from museums, films, scripts, immersive experiences, multimedia shows to social & heritage projects, and large scale documentation & archiving initiatives. We are currently seeking a highly creative and collaborative Exhibition Designer & Curator, based in Delhi NCR to join our team and help shape engaging, story-driven environments that inform, inspire and connect audiences through space and design. The ideal candidate will have A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Exhibition Design or Spatial Design (B.Des/M.Des), Architecture (B.Arch/M.Arch) or a related field. 2-5 years of professional experience in museum or immersive exhibition and spatial design, with a proven track record of executed projects. Proven experience in designing innovative, immersive experiences that use physical space, interactivity, visuals and curated display of art/artefacts/tangible/digital exhibits to tell compelling stories. Hands-on experience preparing detailed design-intent drawing packs for execution teams, including dimensioned plans, elevations, sections, exploded axonometric views and 3D views (if needed) that can be directly used to develop shop drawings. Demonstrated proficiency in design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp, Blender, AutoCAD, Rhino and other relevant software. A keen eye for detail and commitment to thorough research. Proven ability to translate conceptual renders into precise technical documentation, coordinating closely with architects, fabricators and vendors to ensure what is built matches the design intent. A working knowledge of structures, typography, visual design principles, with an understanding of human-centred design. Comfort working with architectural GFC drawings and site measurements to develop coordinated exhibition layouts, services integration and signage plans. Working familiarity with materials, fabrication tolerances and fixing systems commonly used in museums, exhibitions and immersive spaces (MS/SS structures, MDF, glass, acrylics, vinyls, AV mounting, lighting tracks, etc.). Ability to prepare material and finish boards (colour codes, textures, references) that can be read easily by execution stakeholders and clients. Versatility in working across diverse formats including thematic interiors, scenography, experiential design, environmental branding and signage systems. Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage with diverse teams of researchers, curators, artists, architects, implementation partners, museum professionals and clients. Willingness to travel as and when project demands arise. Responsibilities: Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams including in-house writers, researchers, curators and illustrators, as well as external partners including architects, execution and design agencies, and government officials. Lead space and experience design — developing story-driven spatial concepts, narrative frameworks, moodboards, experience flows, scenographic ideas, and early-stage visualizations (including atmospheric renders, thematic layouts, and draft mock-ups) to define the overall design intent and integration of interactive or media technologies. Craft immersive design solutions that combine spatial layout, storytelling, visual development, lighting design, media integration and scenographic elements for both competition proposals and active ongoing projects while adapting to varying timelines and delivery requirements based on the nature of each project. Prepare comprehensive reference and execution packs for each project, including: General arrangement (GA) plans and reflected ceiling plans (RCPs) Elevations, sections and key construction details Exploded views / isometrics for complex elements 3D renders and walkthrough views for client and vendor clarity Annotated drawings with clear dimensions, levels, materials and fixing notes. Develop drawing and documentation standards (layering, line-weights, naming conventions, title blocks, revision tracking) so that drawings can be easily reinterpreted into shop drawings by external agencies. Review, comment on and approve shop drawings and prototypes from vendors, ensuring alignment with design intent, structural feasibility, safety norms and museum conservation guidelines. Support the team with basic quantity take-offs and BOQ alignment where required, flagging design choices that may significantly affect cost, timeline or maintenance. Ensure designs are responsive to museum environments, with a strong understanding of artefact/tangible exhibit display, conservation considerations, visitor movement, and accessibility. Maintain workflow discipline, meet project timelines and ensure quality delivery. Remuneration is commensurate with industry standards. If interested, please send your CV and portfolio to team@folkloguestudios.com at the earliest, mentioning ‘Exhibition Designer’ in the subject. The portfolio must reflect creative thinking, attention to detail and an ability to balance narrative, design and function.
