Data Engineering OpportunityWe are seeking a skilled Data Engineer to join our organization.Job Description:The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and developing custom data connectors, API integrations, and metadata management systems.Key Responsibilities:Design and develop custom data connectors from scratch using Python or other languages.Develop software engineering fundamentals, writing production-quality code in popular languages like Java, Go, Rust, or Python.Integrate APIs using REST/GraphQL clients with retry logic, rate limiting, pagination, and connection pooling.Maintain knowledge of relational and non-relational databases, metadata, catalog, and lineage.Requirements:Proven experience in custom connector development, including building data connectors/integrators from scratch.Strong software engineering fundamentals, with the ability to write production-quality code in popular languages.API integration expertise, including REST/GraphQL clients with retry logic, rate limiting, pagination, and connection pooling.Database systems knowledge, including hands-on experience with relational (PostgreSQL, MySQL, Snowflake), NoSQL databases, and/or BI Tools.Metadata & lineage understanding, including extracting schemas and understanding table/column-level lineage from SQL, APIs, or system catalogs.Desirable Skills:Performance optimization.Testing rigor.Scale awareness.Software design patterns.Problem-Solving & Quality.Systematic debugging.Security-conscious.Autonomous systems thinking.LLM-assisted development with critical thinking.
