SolarWinds Automation Expertise - A Key Driver of Business SuccessJob OverviewThe role of Network Tools Engineer L4 demands a highly skilled professional to manage, optimize, and automate various functions of our SolarWinds platform.Main Responsibilities:Administer and maintain the SolarWinds Orion platform to ensure seamless performance and efficient data collection.Develop and maintain PowerShell scripts for automating SolarWinds tasks to streamline workflows and enhance productivity.Node onboarding/offboarding - ensuring smooth transitions and minimal downtime.Alert suppression or muting during maintenance windows - preventing unnecessary notifications and distractions.Custom alert/report generation and distribution to key stakeholders - providing valuable insights and decision-making support.Actionable Skills and Qualifications:5+ years of hands-on experience managing SolarWinds environments, with a deep understanding of its features and capabilities.3+ years of PowerShell development experience focused on infrastructure and monitoring automation, with expertise in creating efficient and scalable scripts.Strong experience with Orion SDK, SWQL Studio, and SolarWinds API integrations, enabling seamless data exchange and analysis.Strong understanding of PowerShell classes, modules, error handling, and parallelization techniques, allowing for robust and reliable script execution.SQL Server knowledge, including query optimization, performance tuning, and CTEs, to extract valuable insights from large datasets.Familiarity with network topology mapping, NetPath, and NetFlow analysis, providing a comprehensive view of network performance and behavior.Experience in large-scale monitoring environments (>1000 nodes), with the ability to scale and adapt to changing needs.Solid understanding of Windows Server, IIS, and system-level diagnostics, ensuring timely identification and resolution of technical issues.Comfortable working in Kanban/Agile environments with tools such as Jira or Azure DevOps, leveraging agile methodologies to drive business success.Strong communication skills to collaborate with multiple teams and technical stakeholders, facilitating effective information exchange and decision-making.
