Job Summary:The Manager - Construction Accounting will be responsible for overseeing and managing the financial accounting functions within a company. This role requires a deep understanding of construction accounting principles, financial management, and compliance.The ideal candidate will have worked in construction accounting/contractor accounting, with knowledge of % completion method of accounting and experience working on project profitability.This position is responsible for all aspects of the accounting operations and cash management of the Company, including the production of periodic financial reports, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records, and a comprehensive set of controls and budgets ensuring that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles.Duties include:Overseeing day-to-day accounting activities, such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries, to ensure timely and accurate recording of financial transactions.Preparing and analyzing monthly and quarterly financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.Ensuring the monthly close is complete with all general ledger accounts reconciled and analyzed, as appropriate, with variance analysis.Coordinating and facilitating the construction draw process, ensuring timely and accurate disbursement of funds for construction activities.Managing the yearly audit and tax compliance process, including ensuring all information is complete, accurate, and available for the tax preparers and auditors.Establishing and maintaining internal controls to safeguard company assets.Ensuring control over actual expenses vs budget and participating in cash management position and forecasting.Providing management with information vital to the decision-making process.Overseeing the use of Yardi, the Company's Property and Accounting software.Should have knowledge of preparing project profitability report and percentage of completion method of accounting.Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, regulations, and company policies.
