Product Owner – Cloud Networking

We are seeking an experienced Cloud Networking Product Owner with deep expertise in Microsoft Azure networking and FortiGate deployments to join our global infrastructure team. In this role, you will own the vision, roadmap, and delivery of cloud networking solutions that enable secure, scalable, and high-performing connectivity across our hybrid environment. You will collaborate with architects, engineers, and business stakeholders to design, implement, and continuously improve cloud networking services—balancing innovation, operational reliability, and security. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Product Ownership & Strategy Define the roadmap for cloud networking services with a focus on Azure Virtual Networking, VPN/ExpressRoute, and FortiGate firewalls. Act as the subject matter expert and product evangelist for cloud networking within the organization. Translate business requirements into technical capabilities, ensuring scalability, performance, and cost optimization. Design & Delivery Lead design, deployment, and lifecycle management of Azure networking components (VNETs, subnets, NSGs, load balancers, Application Gateway, Private Link, etc.). Oversee global FortiGate firewall deployments, policies, and high-availability designs for both cloud and hybrid connectivity. Ensure integration of Azure and FortiGate with enterprise security standards and identity frameworks. Collaboration & Stakeholder Management Partner with architects, security teams, and application owners to ensure secure and reliable connectivity for cloud workloads. Provide clear requirements and priorities to delivery teams using agile methodologies. Communicate roadmap, progress, and risks to leadership and stakeholders. Operations & Governance Define KPIs, SLAs, and monitoring standards for cloud networking services. Drive automation and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) adoption for deployments and policy enforcement (Terraform, Bicep, Ansible or ARM templates). Ensure compliance with regulatory and security frameworks across all deployments. COMPLEXITY OF THE JOB Technical Depth & Breadth Requires expert knowledge of Azure networking (VNETs, ExpressRoute, load balancers, firewalls, private endpoints, hybrid integrations). Involves designing and maintaining FortiGate firewalls in high-availability, global, and hybrid configurations. Must balance performance, cost, scalability, and security simultaneously. Strong need for automation & Infrastructure-as-Code to manage environments at scale. Business & Security Criticality Cloud networking is a foundational service; any downtime or misconfiguration can impact global operations. The role ensures secure and compliant connectivity, meeting regulatory requirements while enabling business agility. Decisions directly affect application uptime, data security, and user experience across the enterprise. Cross-Functional Scope Collaborates with security, application, data, and infrastructure teams across multiple regions. Manages diverse stakeholder expectations, from technical engineers to executive leadership. Requires translating technical networking challenges into business value and risks for non-technical audiences. Works in an agile, global, hybrid IT landscape, where priorities and technologies evolve rapidly. EDUCATION Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Networking, or a related field. Relevant certifications preferred (e.g., Microsoft Azure Network Engineer Associate (AZ-700), Fortinet NSE 4/7, or PMP/CSPO for product ownership). EXPERIENCE • 8+ years of experience in IT infrastructure with a strong focus on networking and cloud. • Minimum 5+ years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure networking services (VNETs, ExpressRoute, Load Balancers, Application Gateway, Private Link, etc.). • Demonstrated expertise in FortiGate firewall design, deployment, and operations in hybrid or enterprise environments. • Proven experience in product ownership, agile deliver, or service ownership in a global/multi-regional setting. • Strong track record in working with cross-functional teams (security, operations, application owners, vendors). • Familiarity with automation and Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, Bicep, or similar). • Experience managing vendor relationships and external service providers.
