GIS Infrastructure Specialist Job DescriptionThis is a remote GIS Infrastructure Specialist role with our organization, requiring responsibility for developing the overall architecture of our High available GIS infrastructure.The position involves server deployment, network design, and integration with other business systems to ensure scalability and meet future organizational demands.System Integration: Ensure seamless integration of the GIS infrastructure with other IT systems and data sources within the organization.Security Design: Implement security protocols to protect GIS data and services, aligning with organizational IT security standards.Installation and Configuration: Install and configure ArcGIS Server, Portal for ArcGIS, and related components to work effectively and meet organizational needs.Maintenance and Upgrades: Regularly update software to the latest versions and patches, manage system backups, and disaster recovery plans.Performance Monitoring: Monitor server performance, undertake tuning and troubleshooting to optimize the system, and use logs to proactively address issues.This role offers the opportunity to develop skills in GIS infrastructure development, maintenance, and optimization.The ideal candidate will have experience in GIS infrastructure development, including server deployment, network design, and integration with other business systems.A strong understanding of GIS concepts, data structures, and algorithms is essential for this role.Additionally, proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or C++ is required.Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred.Excellent communication and problem-solving skills are also necessary for success in this position.
