This is a full-time remote position requiring strong technical judgment, architectural thinking, and hands-on engineering expertise.The Senior Software Engineer will drive complex initiatives across infrastructure, backend services, frontend experiences, system integrations, and platform scalability. You will collaborate closely with product teams, AI/ML engineers, UX designers, and leadership to deliver reliable, secure, user-centered solutions.This role is ideal for an engineer who thrives in ownership, values clean engineering practices, and wants to contribute to a mission-focused technology ecosystem.Key ResponsibilitiesTechnical Leadership• Lead architectural design, system planning, and technology decisions for core platform services.• Define engineering standards, code quality expectations, and best practices across teams.• Mentor and support junior and mid-level engineers through coaching, reviews, and guidance.Software Design & Development• Build scalable, maintainable, and secure applications, services, and APIs.• Design and implement distributed backend systems, data flows, and cloud-native architectures.• Write high-quality, well-tested code aligned with performance, reliability, and accessibility goals.Platform & Infrastructure• Improve system scalability, fault tolerance, observability, and deployment workflows.• Partner with DevOps or infrastructure teams to enhance CI/CD, automation, containerization, and monitoring.• Contribute to database modeling, storage strategy, and platform integration patterns.Cross-Functional Collaboration• Work with product, UX, analytics, and AI/ML teams to translate requirements into engineering solutions.• Participate in roadmap planning, prioritization, and technical feasibility assessments.• Communicate engineering decisions, trade-offs, and progress clearly to stakeholders.QualificationsRequired• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical field, or equivalent experience.• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, including production systems.• Advanced proficiency in at least one backend development language such as Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Java, or Go.• Proven experience designing and maintaining scalable APIs, microservices, or distributed systems.• Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure), databases, and system design.• Proficiency with Git, testing frameworks, code reviews, and modern development workflows.• Ability to lead projects from concept to deployment with minimal supervision.Preferred• Experience with FastAPI, Node.js, React, Django, or similar frameworks.• Knowledge of containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).• Familiarity with event-driven architectures, messaging systems, or streaming data pipelines.• Experience working in EdTech, AI-driven applications, or mission-oriented platforms.• Background collaborating with ML or data engineering teams.What FasTutorAI Offers• Opportunity to architect foundational technology shaping the future of education.• A collaborative, growth-oriented engineering culture with real ownership.• Remote work flexibility supported by clear communication and autonomy.• Professional development in cloud engineering, system architecture, and AI-integrated platforms.
