Senior Visual Art Manager Job DescriptionWe're seeking a seasoned leader to helm our visual art team, responsible for the artistic direction and vision of our games. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of driving high-quality art content, ensuring that visual elements meet the highest standards.Create and maintain a clear artistic vision, style guides, and visual identity for the game(s), aligning with the company's overall brand and aesthetic.Develop concept art, mood boards, key frames, style frames, and reference guides to communicate artistic direction and ensure consistency throughout the project.Contribute to 2D art creation through hands-on tasks, while providing expert guidance and oversight as needed.Lead, mentor, and manage a team of artists (2D, VFX, UI/UX) – hiring, performance reviews, training, and professional development.Oversee all art production pipelines, scheduling, task distribution, and resource allocation to ensure timely delivery and meet project milestones.Collaborate closely with game designers, engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders to ensure art assets align with game mechanics, UX, monetization, and performance requirements.Evaluate and approve art assets (character models, environments, props, animations, UI, effects) to maintain quality, consistency, and technical feasibility, pushing the boundaries of what's possible in game art.Optimize art assets for mobile performance (poly count, draw calls, texture resolution, LODs), considering platform constraints (iOS / Android / different hardware tiers).Pursue innovative techniques, shaders, workflows, effects, rendering styles, and other creative solutions to elevate the visual experience.Drive the creation of presentation and marketing materials to effectively communicate artistic vision to stakeholders, external partners, and the wider gaming community.Foster regular art reviews, feedback loops, maintain version control, and document art decisions to ensure seamless collaboration and knowledge sharing within the team.Stay informed about industry trends, competitor visuals, and R&D opportunities to bring fresh ideas and perspectives to the table.Represent the art team in cross-functional leadership meetings and external presentations (e.g., with publishers, marketing teams).
