Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Accountant with a deep understanding of financial regulations, especially in the real estate sector. The role requires expertise in IFRS, VAT/GST, RERA regulations, AML compliance, due diligence, and audit procedures. The candidate will play a key role in managing financial operations, ensuring compliance, and driving strategic insights through accurate financial reporting.


Key Responsibilities and KRAs (Key Result Areas):


1. Financial Reporting and Compliance:

• Prepare accurate and timely financial statements in compliance with IFRS.

• Maintain up-to-date accounting records aligned with local and international standards.

• Reconcile accounts and ensure the accuracy of general ledger entries.

2. Tax Compliance and Reporting:

• Handle VAT/GST calculations, returns, and ensure compliance with UAE tax laws.

• Stay updated with changing tax regulations and advise management on implications.

3. Regulatory Compliance:

• Ensure strict adherence to RERA guidelines in all financial transactions.

• Prepare and submit required reports to regulatory authorities.

4. AML Compliance:

• Develop, implement, and monitor AML policies and procedures.

• Identify and report suspicious transactions in line with UAE AML regulations.

5. Due Diligence and Risk Assessment:

• Conduct thorough financial due diligence for investments, acquisitions, and joint ventures.

• Analyze potential risks and recommend mitigating strategies.

6. Audit and Internal Controls:

• Coordinate with external auditors to complete audits efficiently and on time.

• Establish robust internal control processes to mitigate financial and operational risks.

7. Budgeting and Forecasting:

• Collaborate with management to prepare detailed budgets and financial forecasts.

• Monitor actual performance against budgets and provide variance analysis.

8. Accounts Payable and Receivable:

• Oversee AP/AR processes, ensuring accuracy and timely collections/payments.

• Monitor aging reports and optimize working capital management.

9. Financial Analysis and Insights:

• Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and areas for cost optimization.

• Provide actionable recommendations to improve financial performance.

10. Team Collaboration and Leadership:

• Guide junior accountants, ensuring adherence to financial best practices.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support decision-making.

11. System Optimization and Reporting:

• Utilize accounting software for efficient financial management and reporting.

• Design and implement customized financial dashboards for management insights.


Key Qualifications and Skills:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Advanced degrees (MBA, Master’s in Finance) are an advantage.

• Certifications: ACCA, ACA, CPA, CMA, or equivalent.

• Experience: Minimum 5–7 years of experience in accounting, with at least 3 years in real estate development in Dubai.

• Technical Proficiency: Expertise in accounting software (e.g., Oracle, SAP) and advanced Excel.

• Knowledge: Strong command of IFRS, VAT/GST, RERA guidelines, AML regulations, and due diligence standards.

• Analytical Skills: Ability to derive insights from complex data sets and recommend strategies.

• Communication Skills: Clear and effective verbal and written communication for financial and non-financial stakeholders.
