Job Title: Technical LeadExperience: 9+ yearsLocation: OnsiteIndustry: Media & EntertainmentAbout the RoleWe are looking for a Tech Lead with deep expertise in modern application development and technologies to provide technical leadership and guidance to our engineering team. This role is primarily focused on technical direction, mentorship, and hands-on contributions. You will drive design and architecture decisions across multiple systems and teams, ensure engineering best practices, and work across multiple groups to deliver scalable, reliable and secure solutions.As a Tech Lead, you will act as the technical point of accountability for your team, balancing hands-on coding with leadership responsibilities. You will play a key role in adopting emerging technologies, including AI-assisted development tools, to enhance team productivity and maintain modern engineering practices.ResponsibilitiesLead and guide the technical direction of multiple systems and services.Design and build client-facing APIs that are scalable, reliable, and secure, ensuring services and APIs comply with security best practices in collaboration with the security team.Design and build internal APIs that are consumed by frontend applications and servicesOwn design and architecture for assigned modules, escalating major architectural decisions when neededStay hands-on in coding, particularly for common libraries, proof-of-concepts, and complex featuresWrite and review clean, maintainable, and performant code across multiple languagesEnsure engineering best practices are followed for CI/CD pipelines, Git workflows, and containerizationCollaborate with Product Managers to ensure requirements are clearly captured and prioritized for Engineering and QACollaborate with Engineers to ensure technical solutions meet product requirements and align with business needsGuide the team in Agile practices, ensuring effective sprint planning, backlog refinement, and continuous improvement.Ensure the scrum team maintains strong quality by verifying sufficient unit and integration test coverageOversee database design and optimization for relational and non-relational databases.Mentor both junior and senior engineers through code reviews, technical coaching, and knowledge sharingContinuously evaluate emerging technologies and AI-assisted development tools, introducing best practices to keep engineering approaches current, efficient, and future-ready.Support the hiring process by participating in interviews and evaluationsChampion observability and monitoring best practices to ensure high availability and performance of systemsRequired Skills & Experience9+ years of professional experience in software engineeringStrong hands-on expertise in multiple programming languages, architecturesProven experience designing and building scalable client-facing APIs as well as internal APIs to support frontend integrationSolid grasp of software engineering fundamentals, design patterns, and best practicesDeep knowledge of relational and non-relational databases, with the ability to design and optimize data models.Proven experience with AWS (preferred) or other cloud platforms and building distributed, scalable systemsStrong understanding of system design principles, including scalability, performance optimization, and high availability.Proficient in modern distributed system patterns such as microservices and event-driven messaging.Strong experience with modern development workflows, including CI/CD pipelines, git, and containerization/orchestration platforms.Proven experience guiding Agile practices at the team level, ensuring effective sprint planning, backlog prioritization, and continuous improvement.Experience incorporating security and compliance best practices into system and API design.Proficiency in leveraging and evaluating AI-assisted coding tools to accelerate development, improve code quality, and enhance productivity.Experience implementing observability practices, including monitoring, logging, and alerting, to ensure system reliability.Preferred QualificationsHands-on experience with .NET Core and its ecosystem is a plus.Prior experience in the media & entertainment industryExposure to infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation)
