Role : Python Developer with AI/ML Experience (4-6+ years)Location: Chennai (Work from Office)Role OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Python Developer with a deep understanding of Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and Large Language Models (LLMs) to join our Product Engineering team. In this role, you will design, build, and optimize intelligent systems and data-driven applications that power next-generation product experiences. You will work on developing scalable machine learning pipelines, integrating LLM-based solutions, fine-tuning and deploying models, and implementing robust backend services that deliver secure, high-performance AI functionality.The ideal candidate brings strong hands-on experience in Python, ML frameworks (such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn), working with vector databases and embeddings, and deploying models into production. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including data scientists, ML engineers, product managers, and DevOps to build innovative AI-powered platforms that deliver real-world business impact.Key ResponsibilitiesAI-Driven Backend Development & System DesignDesign and build scalable, AI-enhanced backend applications using Python and modern frameworks (FastAPI, Django, Flask).Develop intelligent APIs and microservices that power matchmaking algorithms, recommendation systems, profile scoring, and user-personalization workflows.Integrate AI/ML models (classification, embeddings, LLMs) into production pipelines to deliver smarter user experiences — from compatibility insights to conversational assistance.Work with real-time and batch inference systems to ensure high performance, security, and reliability at scale.Data & Model-Centric ArchitectureBuild and optimize data pipelines and storage layers to support AI, personalization, and fraud-prevention use cases.Work with relational & NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB) and vector databases for embeddings-based search and recommendations.Ensure efficient feature storage, model versioning, and data governance for ML experimentation and deployment.AI Deployment, Monitoring & Continuous ImprovementDeploy ML/LLM services, APIs, and inference pipelines using Docker & cloud-native tooling.Continuously monitor model & system performance (latency, drift, accuracy) and optimize for scalability and trust-safety.Work on fraud detection, fake-profile identification, trust scoring, and intelligent platform navigation to enhance user trust and conversion.Stay updated with evolving AI/ML technologies — including transformers, embeddings, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), explainable AI, and privacy-aware learning.Required Skills & ExperienceStrong proficiency in Python with hands-on experience in backend frameworks (FastAPI, Django, Flask) for AI-driven applications.Proven experience in designing and building RESTful APIs that integrate machine learning models and data-driven services.Solid expertise in relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and preferably vector databases such as Pinecone/Faiss/Weaviate).Good understanding of scalable backend and ML system design — including distributed processing, model lifecycle, and inference pipelines.About the Company:Matrimony.com Ltd, a Great Place to Work Certified Wed-Tech company listed on the BSE and NSE, is a leader in matchmaking and wedding services.
