About the RoleAs a Cloud Platform Engineer, you will be responsible for managing, operating and optimizing cloud infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform. This role involves implementing and managing infrastructure using Terraform, automating configuration management using Ansible, monitoring and optimizing performance using DataDog, collaborating across teams to ensure seamless integration and delivery of applications, and continuously exploring and implementing new tools and practices to enhance DevOps processes.Key ResponsibilitiesImplement and Manage Infrastructure: Utilize Terraform to define and provision GCP infrastructure ensuring it is scalable, reliable and cost-effective.Automate Configuration Management: Use Ansible to automate configuration and management of systems improving efficiency and reducing manual errors.Monitor and Optimize Performance: Leverage DataDog to monitor system performance and application metrics identifying and resolving issues before they impact users.Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with software engineers, QA, and operations teams ensuring smooth integration and delivery of applications.Innovate and Improve: Continuously explore and implement new tools and practices to enhance DevOps processes and improve overall system reliability and performance.Required Skills and QualificationsTechnical Requirements:Good understanding of cloud principles and services. Experience in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Azure is required.Understanding of Terraform allows you to define and manage infrastructure as code efficiently. Experience with Terraform Cloud or similar is preferred.Familiarity with using Ansible or other CM tools for configuration management and automation.Experience with DataDog or other visibility platforms enables effective monitoring and optimization of system performance.Solid foundation in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or similar.Soft Skills:Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex issues.Collaborative mindset and effective communication skills for seamless work with cross-functional teams.Commitment to continuous learning and staying updated with latest Cloud Platform tools and practices.
