Job TitleA Quality Engineer plays a crucial role in ensuring the quality of finished products in fabrication and machine shops.About the RoleConducts visual, dimensional, and geometry inspection to ensure the quality of finished products.Determines and uses appropriate inspection processes and instruments to confirm assigned products meet drawing/IQO's/Control Plan/specifications.Performs stage inspections like fit-up/tack weld, assembly, welding, NDT, leak test, in fabrication shops.Carries out stage inspections and final inspections in machine shops for geometrical, linear, and angular dimensional inspections and witness different customers.Reviews supplier inspection reports and liaises with subcontracting departments.Coordinates with respective departments for day-to-day inspection calls.Communicates day-to-day inspections to respective departments verbally and via email/application.Fulfills company/ISO 9001 requirements.Coordinates with customers on stage-wise/final inspections.Prepares quality dossiers as per QAP/ITPs.Key ResponsibilitiesKnowledge of inspection and measurement techniques and equipment, independently and organized manned within stipulated time at workshops/supplier places.Knowledge of different materials, fabrication processes, welding symbols, and machining symbols.In-depth knowledge of various Indian and international standards/ASME Codes.Knowledge on assurance of geometrical parameters and dimensions inspection in jobs against given specifications.Experience with different measuring instruments for specific applications.Knowledge of basic maths skills required for proving calculations.Ability to read and interpret fabrication and machining drawings, control plans, and specifications.Good verbal and written communication skills.Proficient in Microsoft Word/Excel or similar software for preparing reports.Proficient in preparing MIS and PPT.Qualification and work experience in NDT methods like UT/LPE/MPT etc.Proficient in supplier quality inspection and management.Knowledge of inspection methods, measuring instruments, drawings, GD&T symbols.IMS, 5S, and Safety.In-depth knowledge of ISO 9001 system requirements.Educational QualificationA minimum of 60% throughout, Diploma/Degree-Mechanical is required.
