Job OverviewWe're seeking a skilled Backend Engineer to design and develop our platform's backend architecture from scratch. This is a full-time, remote opportunity that requires experience with Node.js, REST APIs, and cloud deployment.Key Responsibilities:Develop secure, scalable, and high-performance backend systems using Node.js and relevant frameworks.Design and implement data models, APIs, and database schema for efficient data storage and retrieval.Collaborate with the mobile engineer to expose clean, well-documented endpoints for seamless integration.Implement real-time updates using WebSockets or equivalent technologies.Maintain and enhance existing codebases, ensuring performance, reliability, and security.RequirementsTo succeed in this role, you'll need:3+ years of experience in backend development with Node.js.Strong understanding of computer science fundamentals, algorithms, and software design patterns.Proficiency in one or more programming languages (JavaScript, TypeScript, etc.).Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, etc.) and CI/CD pipelines.Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.Bonus PointsIf you have experience with:Shopify, Clover, QuickBooks integrations, or other external APIs.Real-time updates, WebSockets, or equivalent technologies.Cloud-native applications, serverless architectures, or microservices.You'll be well on your way to building a strong foundation for this position.
