Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, industrial engineering, business administration, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Production Planner or in a similar role. Strong leadership skills
  • Deadline-driven, competitive, and strong will to win and succeed. Knowledge of production processes and quality control
  • Strong problem-solving

skills.

  • Technical skills using material requirements planning and scheduling software
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with all levels of employees.
  • Organizational and time-management skills.

Experience:

  • Production planning: 3 years (Preferred)
  • ERP systems: 2 years (Preferred)
  • Supply chain: 2 years

Production Planner duties and responsibilities

  • A Production Planner ensures the production process goes smoothly by making sure all of the appropriate parts are in place and ready to go. Some of the typical Production Planner job duties and responsibilities.
  • Planning, scheduling and coordinating production of the company’s products. Plans, schedules, coordinates, and monitors final approval of products through the complete production cycle to meet production requirements.
  • from engineering plans and production specifications to ensure materials are provided according to schedules.
  • Advises management of the status of work in progress, coordinates with manufacturing, quality, and supply chain, and interfaces with engineering and program management and external customers.
  • Scheduling shifts and workers to provide proper coverage. Ensures availability of materials and labor to meet production requirements and delivery commitments.
  • Works to resolve labour and material shortages, backlogs, and other potential schedule interruptions. Works under general direction and guidance within standard processes for no routine tasks
  • Watching costs to ensure the production process stays within budget, finding ways to improve productivity and reduce costs, contributes to systems and processes changes in work routines.
  • Reporting on the production status and any production issues to upper management. Communicates with contacts in own team to explain and interpret information.
  • Handling production disruptions and productivity problems, Works to achieve operational targets that impact team results. A Production Planner, or Production Scheduler, manages the scheduling and timeliness of the production process to ensure the company meets all deadlines.
