Cyber Security EngineerThe Cyber Security Engineer plays a crucial role in safeguarding an organization's computer networks, applications, and data from potential threats. This involves designing, implementing, and maintaining security systems to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of sensitive information.This position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and excellent problem-solving abilities to identify vulnerabilities, respond to incidents, and ensure compliance with security best practices and regulatory standards.Some key responsibilities include:Security Architecture & ImplementationDesign, deploy, and manage cybersecurity technologies such as firewalls, IDS/IPS, endpoint protection, and SIEM tools to protect against emerging threats.Implement security controls for cloud, network, application, and endpoint environments to maintain a secure posture.Threat Detection & Incident ResponseMonitor security alerts and logs to detect suspicious activities and identify potential threats.Investigate security incidents, lead response efforts, and perform root cause analysis to prevent future occurrences.Vulnerability ManagementConduct regular vulnerability scans and penetration tests to identify weaknesses in systems and applications.Work with IT/engineering teams to remediate vulnerabilities and maintain a secure environment.Policy, Compliance & GovernanceDevelop and maintain security policies, procedures, and standards to ensure compliance with regulatory frameworks.Ensure adherence to industry standards (NIST, ISO 27001, HIPAA, PCI-DSS) through regular audits and assessments.Identity & Access ManagementManage IAM tools and enforce least-privilege access controls to maintain secure access to systems and data.Oversee MFA, SSO, and privileged access management solutions to prevent unauthorized access.Collaboration & DocumentationWork closely with IT, DevOps, and engineering teams to maintain secure environments and develop incident response plans.Prepare detailed security reports, incident summaries, and audit documentation to support decision-making.Required Skills & Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, IT, or related field.Strong knowledge of network security, firewalls, and security protocols.Hands-on experience with SIEM tools (Splunk, QRadar, Azure Sentinel).Experience with cloud security (AWS, Azure, or GCP).Strong understanding of threat modeling, vulnerability scanning, and incident response.Familiarity with scripting languages (Python, Bash, PowerShell).
