Key Responsibilities:

Ensure the credit union’s financial sustainability through ongoing strategic planning, thinking, and management. Advance the credit union’s vision and purpose. Carefully balance financial, member, employee, and community needs by exemplifying the credit union difference.  Direct and manage the operations of the credit union and its subsidiaries. Adhere to cooperative principles. Help shape the future of the organization. Be guided by the governance framework approved by the board of directors. Ensure that the credit union and its subsidiaries follow and adhere to all NCUA and other regulatory agencies’ requirements and regulations as appropriate. Be aware of opportunities for M&A with other like-minded CU’s serving the military and their families.

Education and Experience:

A BS or BA degree in a business management-related field is required; an advanced degree is preferred. Demonstration of ongoing education and certifications relevant to a financial institution’s leadership is preferred.  Minimum of five years of proven leadership expertise in financial institutions; credit union management experience preferred. Competency in organizational and team transformation, cultural evolution, and operational excellence. Experience leading several strategic initiatives and changes to support a compelling vision.  A track record of community service and involvement in the community. Evidence of fiduciary leadership in multiple economic environments.  Knowledge and experience: real estate lending, operations, and regulatory audit preparation and presentation. Work collaboratively with the board of directors to develop and implement policies and procedures that guide the credit union’s operations. Build and maintain member relationships by delivering high-quality products and services that meet members’ needs. Excellent leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate others to achieve goals. Demonstrate knowledge of credit union operations, regulations, and industry trends. Strong commitment to the credit union’s mission, values, and principles.  Ability and competency to design and implement a merger and acquisition strategy that supports the credit union’s strategic plan.
