Role Summary:

The AWS DevOps Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining robust and secure cloud infrastructure environments primarily using Amazon Web Services (AWS). This role is critical in supporting our company's infrastructure needs, ensuring high availability, performance, and scalability of our applications and services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cloud Infrastructure Management: Build and manage AWS cloud infrastructures using services such as EC2, S3, API Gateway, Lambda, EKS, and VPC. Ensure systems are scalable, reliable, and secure.
  • Networking and Security Configuration: Configure VPC, subnets, NAT gateways, and internet gateways. Implement security measures to protect data and infrastructure.
  • Automation and IaC: Utilize tools like AWS CloudFormation and Terraform to automate infrastructure provisioning and management. Ensure infrastructure as code (IaC) practices are integrated for repeatability and scalability.
  • Containerization and Orchestration: Manage containerized environments using Docker and orchestrate deployments using Kubernetes, focusing on efficiency and consistency across development, testing, and production environments.
  • CI/CD Pipeline Development: Support and improve continuous integration and deployment using tools like Jenkins, integrating YAML configurations for automated pipelines.
  • Technical Support and Troubleshooting: Provide daily support for operational issues, troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure-related problems, ensuring minimal downtime.
  • Cross-Platform Cloud Strategies: Develop strategies for multi-cloud deployments including familiarity with Azure to enhance system resilience and data interoperability.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Professional Experience: 3-5 years of hands-on experience in cloud infrastructure, specifically with AWS.
  • Technical Proficiency: In-depth knowledge of AWS services, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and IaC (CloudFormation, Terraform).
  • Networking Expertise: Strong understanding of network architecture and security configurations.
  • Automation Skills: Experience with scripting and automation tools.
  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Certifications: AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified Azure Solutions Architect preferred.

Desirable Skills:

  • Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools like AWS CloudWatch, ELK stack, and Grafana.
  • Experience with additional cloud services providers like GCP for a versatile cloud strategy.
  • Knowledge of database management and storage solutions (MySQL, PostgreSQL).
