About Air Pollution Action Group
Air Pollution Action Group (A-PAG) was set up in 2019 by Ashish Dhawan (Founder and Chairperson, Ashoka University and Central Square Foundation), Vijay Chadda (previously CEO of Bharti Foundation) and Mohit Beotra (previously Chief Brand Officer of Airtel). Ashish is a member of the Commission for Air Quality Management in NCR and adjoining regions.
A-PAG is focused on the strategic implementation of solutions to combat air pollution and has created a niche for itself within the broader ecosystem in the last 3 years. During this time, A-PAG has made significant progress in its quest with a focus on supporting the Governments at the national & state level. Some of the major projects include:
A-PAG has worked on several programs in Delhi. Currently, we are engaged with the MCD and the New Delhi Municipal Council on a massive program aimed at dispersed sources. This covers all 250 wards across the city as well as the area under NDMC.
In Uttar Pradesh (UP) we are retained by the UP-Pollution Control Board (UPPCB) to help reduce air pollution in the state across multiple cities.
In Punjab, A-PAG is supporting the government to combat stubble burning. Our efforts are focused on convincing farmers to adopt alternative in-situ solutions.
A-PAG has also launched the dispersed sources program covering Patna, Muzaffarpur and Gaya. This is part of our program with the Bihar State Pollution Control Board (BPSCB) to address air pollution across the state.
All our support to the Government is offered on a pro-bono basis.

Position Summary:

The role will work as a strategic partner offering expert guidance through an HR consulting lens, focusing on organizational design, culture enhancement, capacity building across organizations, learning and development initiatives, compensation and benefits optimization. The role will involve collaborating closely with grantee organizations to understand their unique needs, crafting tailored solutions, and implementing strategies that drive organizational effectiveness and employee engagement. With your HR experience and expertise, you will serve as a trusted partner to Org Leadership, facilitating the alignment of HR initiatives with the organization's imperatives, ultimately fostering sustainable growth and success.

Responsibilities
The key roles and responsibilities will be:

1. Organizational Design and Development:
Partner with grantee organization leadership to assess current organizational structures and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency and agility.
Collaborate with Leadership and Org HR SPOCs to design and implement organizational changes aligned with strategic objectives.
Guide Leaders and HR SPOCs on change management processes to ensure smooth transitions.
Strategically support in designing and implementing competency frameworks to support talent management processes, including recruitment, performance management, and succession planning.
Provide training and support to HR teams and managers in utilizing competency frameworks effectively to drive performance and development.
2. Culture Enhancement:
Ensure culture assessments/pulse checks are implemented by org teams to identify strengths and areas of focus
Partner with organizations to guide them and share best practices as they build their org culture and implement strategies to nurture a positive organizational culture that supports organization’s values and drives employee engagement.
Provide guidance on initiatives such as diversity, equity, and inclusion programs to foster a welcoming and inclusive work environment across organizations.
3. Leadership Training and Development:
Design and deliver leadership development programs tailored to address specific skill gaps and leadership competencies.
Coach and support senior leaders to enhance their leadership skills and getting the best out of their teams.
Design and drive the Leadership Academy for Leaders across grantee organisations
4. Learning and Development:
Design and implement comprehensive L&D programs, including curriculum development, delivery methods, and evaluation metrics based on organization’s training needs analysis.
Leverage technology and innovative learning approaches to enhance the effectiveness and accessibility of training initiatives.
5. Compensation and Benefits Optimization:
Conduct compensation benchmarking surveys to drive compensation positioning and competitive compensation and benefits tailored to orgnizations needs
Partner with HR SPOCs in the grantee organizations to develop and design strategies to optimize C&B programs, including salary structuring, benefits, employee value proposition.

Desired Qualifications, Skills and Abilities
Ideal candidates should have the following qualifications and skills:
Master’s degree in Human Resources or related field from a top-tier institution.
5 to 7 years of relevant experience, with expertise in people management, operational efficiency, and problem-solving.
Strong ability to build trusted relationships, assess organization needs, develop tailored solutions and build credibility with Leadership.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Ability to think strategically and align HR initiatives with organizational objectives to drive effectiveness.
Demonstrated expertise in organizational design, change management, and culture transformation.
Experience in a high-growth startup or as an HR Business Partner (HRBP) is highly desirable.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to leverage data to inform decision-making and measure HR initiative impact.
