Job OpportunityThe Learningmate team is seeking a Subject Matter Expert (SME) to create assessment items aligned to state standards and state assessment tests across 7 states. The SME will review content alignment and ensure quality and accuracy for English Language Arts (ELA).Developing assessment questions in the style of state test blueprints for ELA grades 3-8 and English I requires a deep understanding of the subject matter. The project involves developing AI-generated and SME-authored assessment items, including passages as needed.The SME will evaluate questions for accuracy, pedagogical relevance, and rigor, ensuring alignment with standards and/or Unpacked Standards Measurable Objectives (USMOs).They will review each question for content accuracy, clarity, and grade-appropriateness, as well as pedagogical relevance and rigor.The SME will also author items, including sources or creating passages as necessary, ensuring that each item aligns with specified ELA standards, meets rigor expectations, and adheres to pedagogical best practices.Key ResponsibilitiesAssessment Item Development: Develop high-quality, valid, and reliable assessment items aligned to state standards and assessment blueprints.Content Review: Review and revise existing assessment items to ensure alignment with state standards and rigorous testing procedures.Authoring: Author new assessment items, including source documents and passages as required, to meet the needs of students and educators.RequirementsSubject Matter Expertise: Possess deep knowledge and understanding of English Language Arts (ELA) standards and curriculum frameworks.Technical Skills: Proficient in using various software applications, including those used for developing and editing educational assessments.Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
