Role Summary We're looking for a Mechanical Engineering Intern to join our Product Innovation Team, someone who's excited to turn ideas into tangible systems and prototypes. You'll help design, build, and test next-generation mechanical systems that power Ossus' hydrogen generation technologies. What You'll Do - Support the design and development of mechanical components and assemblies using CAD tools (SolidWorks, Fusion 360, or AutoCAD). - Build and assemble prototypes using 3D printing, machining, and other rapid prototyping techniques. - Conduct tests, collect data, and validate performance to improve mechanical design. - Diagnose and resolve design or performance issues during development. - Prepare technical drawings, assembly documentation, and test reports. - Collaborate with electrical, controls, and process teams to develop integrated systems. - Suggest design improvements based on testing and user feedback. What We're Looking For - Pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering or related field. - Strong grasp of design principles, materials, and manufacturing methods. - Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks preferred). - Hands-on experience with prototyping — 3D printing, machining, or fabrication. - Analytical mindset with the ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues. - Comfortable working in a fast-paced, iterative prototyping environment. - Strong teamwork, documentation, and communication skills. Good to Have - Experience with pressure systems, valves, or test rigs. - Familiarity with CFD or structural simulations. - Exposure to product development lifecycles — from concept to pilot testing. - Prior internship or project experience involving hardware prototyping or system integration.
