Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Alation Developer with extensive experience in the credit card industry. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data cataloging, metadata management, and data governance, and will be responsible for developing and maintaining our Alation platform to ensure optimal data management and utilization.

Key Responsibilities:

Platform Development and Maintenance:

- Develop, configure, and maintain the Alation data catalog platform.
- Implement data cataloging, metadata management, and data governance features.
- Ensure seamless integration of Alation with various data sources and business intelligence tools.

Data Management:

- Capture, manage, and enrich metadata from various data sources.
- Establish and maintain data lineage to track data movement and transformations.
- Monitor data quality and implement measures to improve data accuracy and reliability.

Collaboration:

- Collaborate with data stewards, data analysts, and other stakeholders to gather requirements and ensure alignment with data governance policies.
- Provide support to end-users on the effective use of Alation for data discovery and analysis.
- Promote best practices in data management and governance across the organization.

Problem Solving and Optimization:

- Identify and resolve issues related to data cataloging and metadata management.
- Optimize the performance and scalability of the Alation platform.
- Stay updated with the latest features and enhancements in Alation and implement relevant updates.

Documentation and Reporting:

- Document system configurations, data workflows, and data governance policies.
- Generate reports and insights on data usage, data quality, and data governance compliance.
- Communicate findings and recommendations to senior management and stakeholders.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field.
- 5-8 years of experience in data management, data governance, or a related field.
- Experience in the credit card is Must.
- Proven experience with the Alation data catalog platform.
- Experience with JIRA and Confluence tool is must.
- Proficiency in data cataloging and metadata management.
- Strong knowledge of data governance principles and best practices.
- Experience with data integration tools and technologies.
- Familiarity with SQL, Python, or other scripting languages.
- Understanding of database systems, data warehouses, and data lakes.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Detail-oriented with a strong focus on data accuracy and quality.
