Institutional Lead Analyst – Metal

Job Specification Experience 6-8 years in equity research or sector-specific analysis preferably in the Metal Mining sector strong buy-side and industry connections will be an added advantage Sector Focus Metal Mining Educational Qualification MBA - Finance or CA CFA with NISM Capital Markets Certification Roles Responsibilities Lead and oversee research initiatives with a dedicated focus on the Metal Mining sector Conduct in-depth analysis of commodity cycles global and domestic demand-supply trends pricing movements steel aluminum copper coal etc regulatory environment and cost structures Track and assess mining capacity resource life ore grades CAPEX cycles and environmental social governance ESG implications on metal mining companies Build and maintain robust financial models for companies in the sector - including historical and forecasted balance sheets profit loss accounts and cash flow statements - along with DCF or residual income-based valuations Analyze key sector-specific metrics such as EBITDA per ton realizations RM energy costs export-import mix and volume trends Develop actionable investment recommendations based on thorough analysis and strategic insight Maintain and nurture strong relationships with institutional investors including asset managers pension funds and PE firms focused on commodities and natural resources Guide and mentor junior analysts in developing deep expertise in the metal mining industry including understanding global market linkages and operational levers
