Job Description Company Overview Urbatect Development is a California-based design and construction company specializing in Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs), residential, multi-family, and mixed-use projects across California. About the Role We are seeking an experienced Finance Controller to oversee the financial health and performance of Urbatect Development. This role will manage the company's accounting operations, ensure accurate financial reporting, and provide strategic guidance through effective financial planning and forecasting. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and proactive, with hands-on experience in QuickBooks and a solid understanding of U.S. accounting practices. Key Responsibilities - Oversee and manage all aspects of the company's financial operations and reporting. - Prepare, analyze, and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. - Handle Accounts Receivable (AR), Accounts Payable (AP), Payroll, and Invoicing. - Maintain and reconcile all financial accounts in QuickBooks. - Lead financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting to support business growth and strategy. - Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal controls. - Manage cash flow, expense tracking, and profitability analysis. - Coordinate with leadership to develop and monitor key financial KPIs. - Provide recommendations for improving financial performance and operational efficiency. - Support tax preparation and coordinate with external accountants or auditors as needed. Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA, CA, or equivalent preferred). - 5+ years of experience in financial management, accounting, or a similar role. - Proficiency in QuickBooks (required). - Strong knowledge of financial reporting, forecasting, and budgeting. - Experience with payroll, AR/AP, and financial administration. - Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. - High attention to detail with the ability to work independently in a remote environment. - Comfortable working U.S. business hours (PST timezone).
