About the Role We are seeking an experienced Senior PHP Developer to join our engineering team. You will play a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining robust web applications while mentoring junior developers and contributing to architectural decisions. Key Responsibilities - Design, develop, and maintain scalable PHP applications and RESTful APIs - Write clean, well-documented, and testable code following best practices and coding standards - Lead technical discussions and contribute to architectural decisions - Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members - Mentor junior and mid-level developers, fostering their growth and development - Optimize application performance, security, and scalability - Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Product, Design, and QA - Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues in production environments - Participate in sprint planning, estimations, and agile ceremonies - Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends Required Qualifications - 5+ years of professional PHP development experience - Strong expertise in modern PHP frameworks (Laravel, Symfony, or similar) - Proficient in object-oriented programming (OOP) and design patterns - Extensive experience with MySQL/PostgreSQL and database optimization - Solid understanding of RESTful API design and development - Experience with version control systems (Git) - Knowledge of front-end technologies (HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript) - Familiarity with testing frameworks (PHPUnit, Pest) - Understanding of web security best practices (OWASP, SQL injection prevention, XSS) - Experience with Linux environments and command-line tools - Strong problem-solving and analytical skills - Excellent communication and teamwork abilities Preferred Qualifications - Experience with modern JavaScript frameworks (Vue.js, React, or Angular) - Knowledge of Docker and containerization - Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions) - Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure) - Understanding of microservices architecture - Experience with message queues (RabbitMQ, Redis) - Knowledge of Elasticsearch or similar search technologies - Contributions to open-source projects - Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies
