Job Description

As an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you'll be involved in the project lifecycle, collaborating with experienced professionals. This role is primarily responsible for the preparation of detailed cost estimates and Bills of Quantities (BOQs) for Civil and Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Developing detailed budgets and cost estimates for various pre-contract stages such as concept design, feasibility design, preliminary design, detailed design etc. throughout all project phases, from initial planning to final construction.
  • Monitoring and managing project costs to prevent overruns by tracking expenditures and identifying potential cost-saving measures.
  • Preparing tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities and helping Senior Quantity Surveyor.
  • Performing precise measurements, rate analysis, and risk evaluations.
  • Rate analysis using SPONS price book, SoR and BCIS cost index.
  • Procurement strategies and executing procurement processes.
  • Financial reporting, tracking, final cost projections, and forecasts to complete.
  • Coordinating with project stakeholders.

  • Thorough understanding suite of contracts.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Preferred to have experience of working on UK projects.
  • Preferred to have advanced level knowledge of CostX.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Preferred to have sound experience of using MS packages (Word, PowerPoint).
