Software Engineer - RHEL Build and Release Pipelines Experience - 3+ Years Location - Bangalore Job Summary: Looking for a Software Engineer to join our Trusted Software Delivery (TSD) for RHEL Team in Bangalore, India. As a Software Engineer, you will contribute to feature development and bug fi xes, be responsible for designing, developing and maintaining robust release pipelines that will be used to deliver the portfolio of products, leveraging the Konflux platform. Responsibilities ● Manage releases: Oversee the entire software release lifecycle from planning to deployment across multiple environments. ● Automate processes: Develop, maintain, and improve CI/CD pipelines and automate build, test, and deployment processes. ● Collaborate with teams: Work with development, QA, and operations teams to ensure seamless integration and resolve release-related issues. Collaborate with other engineers across the Red Hat Product and Delivery engineering team. ● Maintain infrastructure: Manage confi guration management and build systems to ensure consistency and effi ciency. ● Monitor and troubleshoot: Monitor the release process and application performance, and troubleshoot any issues that arise during deployment. ● Document processes: Create and maintain documentation for release processes, including release notes and technical guides. ● Improve processes: Continuously improve release processes and implement best practices, staying current with industry trends and technologies. ● Stay informed of changes in Konfl ux, cloud technologies, and software supply chain best practices. ● Utilize internal tools, including Jira and Slack etc, for task management and collaboration. ● Ensure the security and integrity of the software supply chain. Required skills and qualifications ● Experience: Proven experience as a Software Engineer, DevOps Engineer, or in a similar role. 3-5yrs of commercial experience required. ● Solid experience with the Linux platform, its command line utilities and containers. ● SDLC knowledge: Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle and release management processes. ● Programming languages: Profi ciency with Python and Bash. 3-5yrs in commercial development required. ● Version control: Strong experience with Git source control system, preferably GitHub & GitLab ● CI/CD tools: Strong experience with build automation tools, preferably using Tekton and Argo CI/CD. ● Solid understanding of cloud computing and technologies (e.g., OpenShift, Kubernetes, Tekton, AWS). ● Problem-solving: Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. ● Experience with Agile methodologies. ● Excellent written and verbal communication skills. The following are considered a plus: ● Contributions to open-source projects and communities. ● Other languages: Experience in languages such as Golang, or Java and NodeJs. ● Understanding of other cloud technologies: Azure, Google Cloud. ● Familiarity with cryptography, including digital signatures, signing keys, certifi cates and key management. ● Familiarity with software supply chain principles and practices. ● Experience working with open source and contributing to upstream projects. ● Familiarity with Red Hat products and technologies. ● Experience with Podman. - ● Experience with databases. ● Experience in programming with AI technologies.
