Fixed Term Contract - 12months PDG helps clients reach their business goals through a range of strong technical capabilities We ensure world-class project delivery through the skills of our people methodologies governance and systems Our engineering and project management and construction disciplines ensure safe efficient and sustainable delivery of projects globally across the metals and mining infrastructure and energy sectors We manage our clients entire project lifecycle from studies to building assets operating the assets and developing efficiencies Join our team and become part of a community that strives for positive change-providing the best solutions for our clients toughest challenges As the successful candidate you will Be responsible for the production of mechanical equipment layouts models and drawings in accordance with project requirements under the supervision of the Lead Mechanical Engineer Have sound knowledge in the design of project specific mechanical components or systems as well as fundamental knowledge of the plant processes Understand the owner user requirements and the project mission Assist in interpreting the plant PFDs P IDs and plant battery limits and constraints Coordinate the work of draftspersons and senior draftspersons in the preparation of contract drawings record keeping and monitoring Perform conceptual layout work as well as check drawings prior to release Develop design details of standard design elements Prepare 3D equipment modeling and 3D design Generating 2D drawings from the 3D model as required by the project Perform the design and drafting of mechanical plant models using applicable standards project technical specifications and enterprise or project procedures Execute designs following the mechanical and layout design criteria developed Use vendor data drawings and information to develop and verify the model Create and maintain check sheets for all equipment as vendor data is received Back model all changes as required Perform clash detection of models with other discipline models Provide material quantity takeoffs for estimating purposes or inclusion into bulk commodity purchases and installation contracts Conduct operability and maintainability reviews walkthroughs Familiarity with HAZOP studies will be an advantage You bring to the role Engineering diploma degree or equivalent mechanical Extensive experience between 5 to 20 yrs Exposure in Bentley OpenPlant preferred At least exposure to similar 3D software is must Experience within a large project multidisciplinary EPC EPCM environment Detailed design and modeling skills for the plant layout of mechanical equipment Thorough knowledge of industry or regulatory standards regulations and codes pertinent to the design and systems related to the project For senior designer role should be able to lead small teams plan and supervise the work of others Understanding of other discipline interfaces and requirements Good communication and interpersonal skills Why join us Work with to make a difference Collaborate on exciting to develop innovative solutions What we offer you Flexible work environment Long term career development Think globally work locally Don t meet every single requirement You don t need to At Hatch we are building a diverse inclusive workplace that fosters innovation If you re interested in this role we encourage you to apply even if your past experiences don t perfectly align with the skills we ve listed We re committed to fostering a workforce that reflects the of the in which we operate and serve Hatch is an Equal Opportunity Employer that considers applicants without regard to age race color national origin citizenship religion creed gender sexual orientation marital status disability veteran or any other protected status If you have any accommodation requirements please let us know We ll do our best to meet your needs in accordance with applicable local legislation
