Job Description Teamware Solutions is seeking a skilled and dedicated Linux System Administrator/Engineer with expertise in Red Hat Linux environments. This role is essential for ensuring the smooth operation, stability, and security of our Linux-based systems. Roles and Responsibilities: - System Administration & Management: Install, configure, and maintain Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) servers, both physical and virtual, ensuring high availability and optimal performance. - Monitoring & Performance Tuning: Implement and manage system monitoring tools to proactively identify issues, perform performance tuning, and conduct capacity planning for Linux environments. - Security & Compliance: Manage user accounts, permissions, and security configurations. Ensure adherence to security best practices, corporate policies, and industry standards within the RHEL infrastructure. - Patching & Updates: Plan and execute regular system patching, updates, and upgrades to maintain system health and security posture. - Troubleshooting & Support: Provide expert-level analysis and troubleshooting for complex operating system issues, network connectivity problems, and application-related issues on Red Hat Linux. - Automation: Develop and implement automation scripts (e.g., using Bash, Python, Ansible) for routine administrative tasks, deployments, and system configurations to enhance efficiency. - Backup & Recovery: Implement and manage robust backup and disaster recovery solutions for Linux systems and critical data. - Collaboration: Work closely with development teams, network engineers, and other IT departments to support application deployments, resolve cross-functional issues, and ensure seamless operations. - Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for system configurations, processes, and troubleshooting guides. Preferred Candidate Profile: - Red Hat Linux Expertise: Strong hands-on experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) administration, including command-line operations, file system management, process management, and networking configurations. - Scripting: Proficiency in shell scripting (e.g., Bash) for automation of administrative tasks. Python scripting knowledge is a plus. - Networking: Solid understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, firewalls - iptables/firewalld) in a Linux environment. - Virtualization (Plus): Familiarity with virtualization technologies such as VMware, KVM, or containers (Docker, Kubernetes) is advantageous. - Monitoring Tools (Plus): Experience with system monitoring tools (e.g., Nagios, Zabbix, Prometheus). - Troubleshooting: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a methodical approach to diagnosing and resolving system issues. - Certifications (Plus): Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) or Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) certifications are highly desirable. - Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and other stakeholders. - Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field.
