Role Description We’re looking for a Backend Developer (Fresher) to join our team in Kolkata (on-site). In this role, you will contribute to building scalable, secure, and high-performance backend services for modern applications. You will work on REST APIs, databases, caching systems, and integrations — while collaborating with senior developers to deliver production-grade backend solutions. This role is ideal for someone eager to learn server-side engineering, design robust architectures, and grow in a fast-paced, technically challenging environment. Qualifications - Strong understanding of backend development fundamentals - Good knowledge of JavaScript / TypeScript (any other language ) - Understanding of Node.js and Express.js - Basic understanding of SQL databases (MySQL/PostgreSQL) - Familiarity with backend concepts like: - APIs & routing - Database interactions - Authentication & validation - Caching (Redis) - Basic understanding of software development principles and clean code practices - A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT, or equivalent practical experience - Familiarity with tools like Git, Postman, Docker (added advantage) Probation Period This role includes a 6-month probation period, during which performance, learning ability, teamwork, and technical growth will be evaluated. Successful completion of the probation period will confirm your full-time employment with Edwid Technologies.
