Description

We are seeking an experienced Hadoop Administrator to manage and optimize our Hadoop ecosystem. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in setting up, configuring, and maintaining Hadoop clusters, ensuring data availability, and collaborating with data engineering teams to support our data processing needs.

Responsibilities

- Install, configure, and maintain Hadoop clusters in a production environment.
- Monitor and optimize Hadoop performance and ensure high availability.
- Implement security measures and data governance policies for Hadoop ecosystems.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Hadoop operations and performance.
- Coordinate with data engineers and developers to facilitate data processing and analysis.
- Manage backups and recovery processes for Hadoop data.
- Perform regular updates and maintenance of Hadoop components.

Skills and Qualifications

- 5-10 years of experience in managing Hadoop clusters and ecosystem components.
- Proficiency in Hadoop technologies such as HDFS, MapReduce, Hive, Pig, and Spark.
- Strong understanding of Linux/Unix systems and shell scripting.
- Experience with data storage and processing techniques within the Hadoop ecosystem.
- Knowledge of cluster management tools like Ambari or Cloudera Manager.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud and their integration with Hadoop.
- Ability to monitor and maintain system performance and troubleshoot issues.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
