Summary The job purpose is to lead and manage all assigned project network activities and apply scientific technical expertise to address complex R D issues for the preparation and timely delivery of drug products DP processes and procedures coach team members participate in teams and contribute to overall Technical Research and Development strategies and goals To develop our growing pipeline of products we are looking for experienced professionals in the area of pharmaceutical development In this challenging position you will play a key role in the development of oral solid and liquid dosage forms including poorly soluble compounds Major accountabilities To ensure high quality products are developed applying risk analysis and QbD methodologies To work in multidisciplinary and international project teams and represent Pharmaceutical Development in external collaborations resulting in a wide range of scientific and strategic tasks To develop and achieve robust formulations and processes through optimization scale-up and validation work and provision of the re-quired documentation to allow worldwide registration To work in a GMP-role covering manufacturing documentation data management and quality management aspects To plan supervise and report internal and external technical development campaigns as well as clinical supply campaigns To plan supervise and to report internal and external technical transfer campaigns between Development sites and to production sites internal and 3rd parties The development of new technologies and supervision of scientific projects are further options within this position Key performance indicators Adherence to costs quality quantity and timelines for all assigned tasks Adherence to Novartis standards in particular quality ethical health safety and environment HSE and information security ISEC standards Feedback from other team leaders and advisory boards Measurable contributions to the success efficiency and productivity of the department and new programs initiatives started and implemented Refer to annual individual and team objective setting Internal and external publications presentations Successful and effective execution of assigned tasks within given timelines at expected quality right the first time and on time demonstrate initiative and strive for high level of quality Minimum Requirements PhD or M Tech or M Pharm in Pharmaceutical Technology Pharmaceutics English PhD with 8 years or M Pharm with 12 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry Minimum 5-6 years of hands-on industry experience in the development of pharmaceutical formulations ideally oral dosage forms excellent understanding of QbD and biopharmaceuticals Awareness for safe handling of chemicals potentially dangerous materials and equipment Basic knowledge in scientific technical areas of collaboration and good knowledge of laboratory and or technical tools Adequate knowledge of software and computer tools Good presentation and Scientific writing skills Experience of working in international project teams matrix organizations Work Experience People Challenges Managing Crises Functional Breadth Project Management Operations Management and Execution Collaborating across boundaries Skills Environment Experiments Design Health And Safety Ehs Laboratory Equipment Manufacturing Process Materials Science Process Simulation Project Management Technical Writing Sop Standard Operating Procedure Languages English Skills Desired Coaching Skills Data Science Environment Experiments Design Health And Safety Ehs Laboratory Equipment Manufacturing Process Materials Science Process Simulation Sop Standard Operating Procedure Technical Writing Waterfall Model
