Company Description Are you looking to join an organization that is growing and dynamic What about a high-energy collaborative environment that rewards hard work J S Held is a global consulting firm that combines technical scientific financial and strategic expertise to advise clients seeking to realize value and mitigate risk Our professionals serve as trusted advisors to organizations facing high stakes matters demanding urgent attention staunch integrity proven experience clear-cut analysis and an understanding of both tangible and intangible assets The firm provides a comprehensive suite of services products and data that enable clients to navigate complex contentious and often catastrophic situations The Senior Azure Engineer will be a key technical leader responsible for the architecture implementation and management of our Azure cloud environment This role has a strong emphasis on Infrastructure as a Service IaaS principles automation and the strategic implementation of cost controls You will be instrumental in ensuring our cloud infrastructure is secure scalable highly available and financially optimized to support our global business objectives Key Responsibilities Schedule aligned with UK business hours This usually means working from around 1 00 PM to 10 00 PM IST to match the 8 30 AM to 5 30 PM GMT workday in the UK Azure IaaS Architecture Implementation Design deploy and manage enterprise-scale IaaS solutions in Azure including Virtual Machines Virtual Networks Storage Accounts and Load Balancers Champion and implement Infrastructure as Code IaC using tools like Terraform and ARM templates to ensure consistent repeatable and automated environment provisioning Architect and maintain robust networking solutions including VNet peering VPN Gateways ExpressRoute and network security groups NSGs Implement and manage high-availability and disaster recovery solutions to meet business RTO RPO objectives Cost Management Optimization FinOps Develop and enforce cloud cost governance policies including comprehensive resource tagging strategies budget alerting and access controls Utilize Azure Cost Management Billing tools to analyze spending patterns identify inefficiencies and provide actionable recommendations for cost reduction Lead initiatives to right-size virtual machines optimize storage tiers and leverage Azure Hybrid Benefit Reserved Instances and Savings Plans Collaborate with finance and application teams to foster a culture of cost-consciousness and report on cloud spending against budgets Automation Security Operations Automate operational tasks configuration management and deployment processes using PowerShell Azure CLI and Azure DevOps pipelines Implement and monitor security controls in collaboration with the cybersecurity team utilizing Azure Security Center Azure Policy and Microsoft Defender for Cloud Serve as a technical escalation point for complex Azure-related issues providing expert-level troubleshooting and resolution Mentor junior engineers and share best practices across the organization Create and maintain thorough documentation for all cloud environments and processes Qualifications 5 years of hands-on experience in designing and administering Microsoft Azure environments Deep understanding of core Azure IaaS services Compute Networking Storage and Security Proven experience with Infrastructure as Code IaC with a strong preference for Terraform Proficient in scripting languages such as PowerShell or Azure CLI Solid understanding of Azure identity and access management including Azure Active Directory Entra ID Experience with Azure monitoring and logging solutions Azure Monitor Log Analytics Cost Control Demonstrable experience in implementing and managing Azure cost optimization strategies Mindset Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced international team environment Communication Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders Preferred Qualifications Bachelor s degree in Computer Science Information Technology or a related field Azure Certifications such as AZ-305 Designing Microsoft Azure Infrastructure Solutions or AZ-104 Microsoft Azure Administrator Experience with CI CD pipelines in Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions Knowledge of containerization technologies Docker Azure Kubernetes Service -
